Prof Leroy Cronin FRSC, FRSE holds the Regius Chair of Chemistry. He leads a large group of researchers (The Cronin Group http://www.chem.gla.ac.uk/cronin/)  investigating complex chemical systems, specifically the self-assembly and self-organization of inorganic molecules and the engineering of complex systems leading to the emergence of system-level behaviours. His research on inorganic cells (iCHELLS) that house polyoxometalates promises a new technology for light driven advanced oxidation of polluted waters.
