Dr Ameet Pinto

Ameet is an Environmental Engineer with broad expertise in drinking water and wastewater engineering. He focuses on microbial ecosystems that occupy the interface between infrastructure and public health, particularly as it relates to engineered water systems. His research utilises a combination of molecular tools to test ecological hypothesis in engineered water systems with the goal of translating ecological theory into industrial practise.

His current research projects include development of a predictive framework for microbial management in drinking water systems (EPSRC funded) and development of a bacteriophage-based sensor for rapid identification of pathogens in drinking water (Royal Society funded).
